About Me

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

I’m Gina Carey, a middle grade writer currently seeking representation. During the work week, I’m a programming director on the great wide internets - mostly doing video things. And when I'm not at work, I freelance for a number of websites and write in coffee shops around Manhattan. In fact, I write (and read) any moment I can steal between work and travel.

Here’s a bit more about me:

Location: New York City
Born: Boston
Undergrad: Smith College (BA, English Language and Literature)
Employer: - Huffington Post Live
Tweeting at: @captaincarey and @sharkie540

My kind of people are the ones who remember what word they spelled wrong in elementary school spelling bees. I live deliciously close to the MET, and I’m working my way through each wing in a series of posts labeled Cupcakes and Art. I have an unnatural love for papery things and glue sticks, and am skilled at making birthday cards with nothing but office supplies. I prefer the Oxford comma.

I'm a little shy when it comes to writing bios, but revealed a few more quirky facts in this post.

You can read more about my writing here. Thanks for stopping by, and if you want to say hi or chat about projects, reach out to gina-dot-carey-at-gmail dot-com.
